Wild Yellow Daisies On The Island

Those who frequent my Blog are accustomed

to all the photos I take each summer on 

Honeymoon Island, Florida.  Not far from our

home, it is a favorite go-to place to get away

from the city.  Spring on the island is more 

beautiful than ever this year.

Wild yellow daisies are scattered all over, and

I was in heaven taking photos.  The island, left

to it's natural beauty, is paradise like.

The waters of the Gulf Of Mexico were calm

on this day......waters clapping against the shore

and bird life sounds were music to my ears.

Last summer's Mandevilla stayed in our

Florida garden all winter long.  The leaves

remained green and it seemed to go dormant.

Early spring, I fertilized it.  For the past several

days it has produced more blooms than ever

before.  I couldn't be happier.

A Butterfly

We've spent a lot of time in the 

garden this week.

Today, we addressed the 

palm trees situation.

It took the tree-trimmers 

a short time to transform

two of our tall palm trees. 

 They were scrappy looking, 

with droopy fronds

 and heavy seed pods.  

We got the bad

news about the tallest palm. 

 It is too tall to climb

and needs to come down. 

When the cost was 

mentioned, we sighed

and agreed to talk

about it

another day.  

In the meantime, 

we are contented to

trim and plant flowers...some

 that will attract sweet

butterflies.

Beautiful Spring

The grass has turned 

green 

and coastal winds

 are again 

carrying sounds

 of lawn mowers.

The colors 

and fragrance of

 flowering 

plants

have returned

 to my garden and 

I can be found 

wearing 

protective gloves,

planting seeds

 and spraying 

for black spot

 on 

my Roses. 

 The song of 

returning 

birds 

can be heard

through 

muffled leaves 

while they sit

on newly formed

 nest.

I'm thanking God 

for

sunny warm

 days 

and

all that is

 the season of

spring.

Wildflowers On The Island

Spring

has come to 

Honeymoon Island.....

Nothing could be any prettier

than what nature produces.

Lovin' Spring

I love the white Mandevilla blooms....

and it's my good fortune they don't

mind the Florida heat and sunshine.

Give them a good drink of water each

afternoon and they thrive.

Spring has been so beautiful this year.

We've a nice rain prediction for tomorrow

with temps in the 70s....

A Spring Day In Florida

Pink Geraniums

I've had major disappointment this spring

looking for this shade of Geraniums. So,

I'm sharing these photos from 

another year. My how I do wish I could

find this same color....my favorite when it

comes to Geraniums. 

Early morning shadows across the garden

seem best for photos and such a lovely

peaceful time of the day.

Mandevilla Blooming

My pink Mandevilla has 

 been popping out with all sorts of

buds over the past week. 

 Loads of rain and lovely sunshine

 spurred the process along

 magnificently.........

This morning the first bloom

could be seen from my window.

I've had a friendship with my garden

for a good many years now.  It is

equally splendid winter, summer and

now spring.
