They're called Jonagold apples.
Have you tasted them? If not, perhaps you might......
They're a cross between a
crisp Golden Delicious
and the blush-crimson
Jonathan.....
developed in 1953
in New York state. They are deliciously
sweet and thin skinned.
Smaller than usual this year,
they fit in a small child's hands just right.....
Have you had apple tea?
It's a lovely
fall treat,
simply made with
a nice black tea, cinnamon,
apple juice
and
a bit of lemon, if you like.
Oh glorious fall......
~
"The breezes taste of apple peel.
The air is full of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive
Well-honeyed hum,
And mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.
