New Growth

These are photos of spring in my
Florida garden.....our Snow bushes
have tiny pink leaves now, a sure
sign of spring.

The Hawaiian Ty plants have gorgeous
large pink leaves. In the distance you
can see my pink Camellia plant. I planted
it last spring and it is covered with blooms
it's first year in the garden. We couldn't
be more pleased.

A closer look at the Hawaiian Ty.

Have you noticed the color theme in
this part of the garden? If you guessed
pink, you were absolutely correct!

Have a sweet day.....Dee Dee

Tiny Black Ants

I clipped a few Camellias,
and placed them in
my kitchen window.

While admiring their
exquisite beauty,
I noticed
a stamen covered
with tiny black ants.

 What to do?

I held the blooms
beneath the faucet
and washed the ants down
the drain.

The Camellias seemed
pleased, possibly
thinking they had just
experienced a nice
spring rain.

Have a sweet ole' day!

A Garden Visitor

Our lavender Lantana is blooming.

This time of year
lots of
tiny flowers
can be seen in our garden.
A pretty butterfly,
to our delight,
came for a short visit,
staying
long enough for a
bit of nectar.

Have a sweet ole' day, everyone.  Dee Dee

A Valentine Azalea

A lovely pink Azalea from my Dearest
on Valentine's Day.  It is a gift that keeps
on giving, and I shall cherish it for a long while.

I thought it a sweet thing....one lone
dark pink bloom nestled in amongst the
other pretty blooms....

Of course they were put on display for all to see........

Sigh.....

Have a sweet ole' day, everyone.  Dee Dee

Snow Bushes

I have "Snow Bushes" growing near the
entrance to our cottage.
 Spring has already
arrived here on the gulf coast and we have
evidence all over the place.
Having remained
dormant for the past few months, the leaves
on these lovely plants are now turning a variety
of pink shades.
Ah yes.....spring is welcomed here.

I've seen the Mockingbirds this
past week.  They'll be building nesting
places before long.

Have a sweet ole' day, everyone.  Dee Dee

Garden Images

A walk in the garden this morning, with
camera in hand, has yielded a glimpse of
winter in Florida.
Of course new Camellia blooms have my
full attention.....still.

The pool with morning shadows....
One word....."serenity"

Have a blessed Lord's day, everyone.  Dee Dee

Red Tulips

Since most of the country is experiencing
dreary cold weather, I thought it might be
a good thing to post images of something
to brighten the day.....
"RED TULIPS"

Just as sure as the stars in Heaven
shine forth in the darkness of night,
we can rely on the love of God to
carry us through our plight.

Thinking of those without power
with a concerned heart.....Dee Dee

A Pink Camellia Bloom

I've been posting about my much anticipated
Camellia bloom for a while now......

This lovely bush
was planted last spring.

Mid November, I noticed
tiny buds all over it.
That is the nature of
the Camellia bush
....at least one growing
in my Florida garden.

It has been almost three months of
watching and waiting.

I believe so worth the wait.

My good fortune is.....they will
continue to bloom for several weeks.

Have a blessed day!  Dee Dee

Camellia Love

Sunlight coming through window is
shining through the bloom...so pretty.

I'm in love with our beautiful Camellias.
They can be found all over our cottage....
it the kitchen window, on the dining table
and in our living room.

Have a sweet ole' day, everyone.  Dee Dee

Roses Blooming In February

Spring like weather has awakened a
"Sleeping Beauty."
They bloom in clusters.....

The buds are orange and the beginning
bloom orange.  As the Rose opens wide,
it is multi-colored and just beautiful.

Glad you stopped by....have a blessed day. Dee Dee

Opportunities Everywhere

Embrace the wonder
and excitement
each day
 brings.
For tomorrow
 affords
us new
opportunities......
time to
experience
time to
 create.....
time to reflect...
time to
 dream.

Waiting For Blooms

Last winters Camellias......now
planted in our garden.  With all those
buds on the plant, I am most anxious
to see them open into gorgeous blooms
once again.  We shall see....perhaps soon.

Have a sweet day.....Dee Dee

Falling Leaves

Here on the Gulf Coast of Florida,
the weather seems more like fall than
mid winter.
A large oak tree in our
front yard is shedding leaves.
They are small leaves that can be
found in every nook & cranny. It's
hard to see the green rye grass for
the leaves in some places and the
driveway is completely covered.
Today the Mister can
be seen with a large rake
 in his hands,
trying to put some order
back into our landscaping.
I think the combination
of flowers, grass and leaves
is very pretty.

The Lantana in full bloom, is
peppered with tiny oak
 leaves as well......

Hmmm....fall in February,
or though it would seem.

Have a sweet ole' day!  Dee Dee

Mini Jonquils

The folks from Norway have been
forcing bulbs to bloom mid winter
for years.  I admired from a distance
until one day....I copied their
tradition.

Lovin' these mini jonquils I've
placed on the back porch.
 Today the Florida winter temps
are in the 80s and the tiny flowers
are enjoying the warmth.

Have a blessed day, everyone.  Dee Dee
