Today I was happily out and about
visiting flower shops.
I was on a mission, the same one
that takes place each year at this time.
Never breaking with tradition,
I was after
sweet Chrysanthemums
for our garden bistro table.
Early autumn, pink and mauve Mums,
are my preference,
complimenting the last of the
pink Hibiscus and pink Crape Myrtle blooms.

But when the autumn day have come
then bloom our sweet Chrysanthemum.
