Earlier in the week,
we had agreed with good friends,
to meet Friday at Ruby Tuesdays
for dinner.
Afterwards .... desert, cards and
board games at our place.
The evening was mostly spontaneous
with relaxed conversation and
lots of laughter. The four of us
are a good fit, having many things in common.
Attending the same church, we share strong
Christian beliefs, the tie that binds us together.
This past year we've seen
some pretty remarkable things happen
in our lives, things we never could
have imagined.
Together, with these friends, we are
making joyful noises unto the Lord,
and using our singing talent to entertain folks.
We sing mostly old spiritual hymns,
Gaither style, with a hint of bluegrass.
When I look back over this past year, I
marvel at how our lives came together,
how comfortable we were with each
other from the beginning, and how
our voices blended perfectly.
The harmony we
create together is short of amazing.
I'm a true believer that nothing in this life
is coincidence....God has a plan for our
lives and when we find ourselves in His will
things happen. No doubt in our minds....
He brought us all together.
Tonight, my heart was overflowing with
thankfulness for these dear sweet friends.
There is a great value in friendship.
True friendship is one of the great
gifts of life.
And yes, I believe good friends are
"the desert in our lives."
