Natures Quiet Presence

I stood still in the
woodlands, observing.......
With quiet wings,
a dragonfly flew by,
and landed on
a small branch draped
with delicate spider webs.

I felt alone while standing
under the umbrella of
 the live oak trees.
The woods
were quiet, and seemingly
void of any living thing.
Breaking the silence,
a small grey
squirrel scampered
 up close to me.
One of the gentlest of all
birds is the Mourning Dove.
They were a pair, and I
 watched them,
 on this quiet morning,
 in our cottage garden.
Sometimes,
peace and solitude are
needed.  Nothing too much;
nothing wanting.
Have a wonderful day! Dee Dee
