They sat on our dining table
the weekend of Thanksgiving.
Brilliant orange, they were lovely
placed in an old turquoise
Ball jar.
They were
"show stoppers."
How convenient was the
table they sat on, to display
fabrics for making baby things.
Tiny patterned baby fabrics,
batting and cotton stuffing
surrounded the fading
Roses. At one time, they
were almost covered up
and out of sight. Tiny
rocking horses and alphabet
letters blocked them from
view, and not until small
stuffed ponies were
realized, did I notice
them.
Yet even still,
beautiful now.....
they are noticed again...
our "harvest table
faded orange
Roses."
